Sergeant Major McMichael served over 36 years of active duty with the U.S. Marine Corps, retiring in 2006. He was appointed as the 14th Sergeant Major of the United States Marine Corps on 30 June 1999. His last assignment prior to retirement was becoming the first senior noncommissioned officer for Allied Command Operations to Supreme Headquarters Allied Powers Europe (NATO). As a public speaker whose primary focus is leadership development, management, coaching and positive citizenship, he is author of “Leadership Achieving Life-Changing Success From Within.” Sergeant Major McMichael is also founder and president of ‘4-DREW’ a nonprofit organization providing leadership and mentor counseling for schools and children to have a better understanding for the need to pursue excellence in all endeavors of life. In addition, he also serves on numerous nonprofit boards including PlayWorks, Thanks USA, Call of Duty Endowment and Operation VetsHaven.
